New Moment lense

Finally decided to pick up a lense from Moment. Chose the newer 58mm Tele lense for those times when I just want to get a little closer. Turns out this lense works great for portrait photos. Then if you double down and shoot in portrait mode you can get really amazing results!

Davinci Resolve 16 Free Version

Funny, how lately I've been using and learning Davinci Resolve 16 for my admittedly small video projects, and now the adds on this Blogger page (for me) are all from Blackmagicdesign (the creators of Davinci Resolve). It is a great video & Audio editing program and anyone can download the free version and go way beyond basic editing.  Easily replaces the Adobe program I was using and actually takes advantage of my GPU during editing and encoding the output. The Adobe program I was using never took advantage of my GPU.

Some recent photos I took that I like:

A typical walk during lunch downtown.

Video I shot a year ago (August 2017) while we walked along Drakes Beach in Point Reyes National Sea Shore. I used a GoPro Session 4 and my Pixel XL. Lots of camera movement which I could now easily eliminate with a new 3 axis gimbal made for holding cell phones. But I still like how the content came together.

A Creative Couple Weeks

These last couple weeks have been unusually high in creative output at our household.  First was the Mission Delicious video conceived and developed by Anna ...

Then Julie drew this Mehndi art on a lamp shade as a gift for Laura...

Last night I made a Soma puzzle cube from 27 - 1/2" wood cubes. Which made 7 unique puzzle pieces. Then had Anna solve the puzzle before I let her decide how to paint it.

This morning at Home Depot Anna and I made a bird house together.
Picture to follow.

Today Julie painted this Seagull on Driftwood scene.

Then she also repainted these Lobster Pot Buoys we found on our Irish Beach vacation in July.

Later on Sunday I made the frame for a 36" x 60" HardieBacker board for next mosaic Julie is planning on starting in the coming weeks.

Friends World Committee for Consultation Weekend

Spent the weekend from Friday after work until after Sunday's Church service recording videos of talks given during the Friends World Committee for Consultation conference. Our little church was one of ~4 hosting locations internationally for this event. We had originally planned on streaming live to the Church's YouTube account but ran into delayed shipping on the cameras we were going to use for this. So, we just recorded with a nice video camera and planned to edit and upload the videos after the conference. As it turns out editing is a lot of effort when you have 16-20 hours of HD video. I'm trying out just uploading to YouTube and using their web based editing tools to combine and trim each segment (the files were split into less than 4GB segments or Windows probably would have choked on them).
